2013 Ironman Series Race Map

The 2013 Ironman Series currently consists of 27 qualifying races around the world and the Ironman World Championship race in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii in October. The series sees the addition of 4 new races to the schedule with the removal of 3 and one change for the 2013 calendar. Three major events made news in 2012, the cancelation of the Ironman U.S. Championship in New York and the 30-year old Ironman Canada event. Also the format change for Ironman St. George which was converted to and Ironman 70.3 Series triathlon. British Columbia will still have an Ironman race with the addition of Ironman Canada in Whistler. Mexico gets another Ironman triathlon with the new Ironman Los Cabos in March, but Germany loses on with the demise of Ironman Regensburg.

New 2013 Ironman Races:

• Ironman Los Cabos (March 17, 2013)
• Ironman Lake Tahoe (September 22, 2013)
• Ironman Canada (August 25, 2013) now in Whistler, B.C.
• Ironman Japan (August 31, 2013)

2013 Ironman Changes:

• Ironman St. George canceled, converted to Ironman 70.3 St. George
• After 30 years Ironman Canada in Penticton will no longer take place
• Ironman U.S. Championship has been Canceled
• Ironman Regensburg still has been Canceled

An Ironman triathlon race consists of a 2.4 mile Swim, 112 mile Bike and 26.2 mile Run or a 3.8km Swim, 180km Bike and 42.2km Run.
