Superior Man Triathlon Sold To 3Disciplines Racing

The Superior Man Triathlon established in downtown Duluth, Minnesota back in 2012 has be sold to 3Disciplines Racing.  The event featured labeled “Escape from the Vista Fleet” featured a swim start that had athletes jumping off the one of the harbor cruise boats in the in Vista Feet into Lake Superior.  Athletes then swam to shore near Bayfront park and had an indoor transition area inside the Amsoil Arena where the UMD Men’s and UMD Women’s hockey teams play games during the winter season.  For the run athletes enjoyed a run along Duluth’s Lake Superior shore, going past the big ships and the city’s Aerial Lift Bridge.  The race had Half-Iron and Olympic distance races and normally took place in September.

The race was a great end of season race for those living here in Minnesota or the surrounding areas and had many triathletes who traveled to race the event..  In 2013, 2014 and 2016 it won the “Triathlete’s Choice Race of the Year!” award presented by Minnesota Tri News.

We are super excited to announce that we’ve chosen 3 Disciplines Racing as the new owner of the Superior Man Triathlon. The 3Disiciples family is one of the largest multisport event production companies in the U.S. with decades of experience producing multisport events. We chose them because of their focus on the athlete experience and their ability to manage complex events. As well, 3Disciplines has a model that brings new athletes into triathlon, which we believe will take the Superior Man Triathlon to another level. Get ready for a stellar event that captures the iconic elements that the Superior Man Tri has dished out over the years, such as an indoor transition area and scenic bike and run courses along the north shore of Lake Superior. – Clint and Andrea
