There are a variety of triathlon race distances to accommodate all of the different skill levels out there. Some race types / distances vary from race to race, from continent to continent, while others distances are consistent with the lengths. The data below is for reference purposes, please check with the triathlon event for actual distances. Once in a while you will see 70.3 or 113. These numbers represent the total distance of the half while 140.6 or 226 represent the distances of a full iron distance event.  Representation has now traveled down to the shorter distance with 5150 representing and Olympic distance triathlon event while 2575 signifies a Sprint distance triathlon race.
