The 2014 XTERRA Series specialty race map consits of races in the XTERRA World Tour schedule and races in the XTERRA America Tour. The 2014 XTERRA World Tour will consist of 21 off-road triathlon events including the XTERRA World Championship race in Maui, Hawaii in October.
After six years as part of the XTERRA America Tour (a points series race), the XTERRA Guam off-road triathlon is now a full-fledged 'Championship' event, complete with a $15,000 pro prize purse and slots to the XTERRA World Championship. Gone from the 2012 XTERRA calendar is the XTERRA Austria Championship off-road triathlon race.
XTERRA World Tour
The XTERRA World Tour gives athletes around the world a chance to race in some of the most diverse, spectacular, and challenging natural environments on the planet - from tropical jungles to snow-covered alps. Pro athletes compete for more than US $458,000 in pro prize monies, while amateurs race for national titles and coveted slots to the World Championship. All of the 2014 qualifying Championship races have slots to the XTERRA World Championship race in Maui, Hawaii in October.

XTERRA America Tour
The XTERRA America Tour consists of races across the United States. Amateur competitors compete at up to three events to earn points toward an XTERRA Regional Championship title. With this title comes an invitation to compete for a national title at the XTERRA USA Championship. The top finishers in regional and national championships are invited to compete at the XTERRA World Championship in Maui, Hawaii
An XTERRA off-road triathlon race consists of Swim, a Mountain Bike and a Trail Run. The standard race distance is: S: 1.5km B: 30km MTB R: 10km TR.
